Shipbuilding and workboats
We supply hydraulic systems for newbuild and retrofit of all vessel types. Deck systems, steering gear, hatch covers, loading ramps, cranes and anchor winches. Our products are custom designed for the specific requirements of each vessel type.
Workboats and tugboats operate under demanding conditions and require hydraulics that are compact, powerful and reliable. The systems are designed for continuous use with minimal maintenance requirements. All products comply with classification requirements from Bureau Veritas, Lloyd's, DNV and other classification societies.
Material selection and certification
The environment on board a vessel is one of the most demanding for hydraulic components. Salt water, temperature fluctuations, engine vibrations and the constant motion of the ship place high demands on materials, seals and surface treatments.
When specifying each maritime system, our technical specialists assess the frequency of use, the rod position when at rest, ambient temperature and average humidity. Based on this, rod protection, seal type and surface treatment are determined. This prevents premature failure and minimises maintenance requirements throughout the lifecycle. Depending on the environment, we select from nickel-chrome hard chrome plating, HVOF thermal spray coatings, ceramic coatings or Inconel 625 laser coating.
